If you know how to make a pass line bet, you can play craps.  Yes, there are something like forty different bets that can be made at the table, but stay away from them until you are more comfortable with the game, and have done plenty of watching and learning. Proposition bets and hard way bets have very bad odds…it is wiser to stay away from them anyway, unless you have money to burn.

What makes shooting dice more desirable than, say, roulette, or blackjack?  Well, you will be playing only against the house, and if you stick with the basic bets on either the pass line or the don’t pass line, the odds are pretty decent.  Players are super congenial, since their play does not affect your game and yours doesn’t affect theirs.

Dice is drawing more interest again because of the influx of thrill seeking younger players; a direct result of the hold’em fad that television and computers have brought to the world.  And these younger players are not intimidated at all, by the noise, fast action and diverse betting at the craps tables. But they had better take the time to learn the odds and stay away from the hard way and proposition bets that only make the casinos richer!
